Block Youtube Website On IPAD In Chrome Browser & Chrome Browser App
I searched for a way to block YouTube on the iPad Chrome Browser. Traditional methods & suggested website blocking steps don't work for YouTube for whatever reason.
I've already utilized the normal Screentime Options, including but limited to:
- App Limits > Other > Add Websites > 1 minute > Block at the end of the limit
- Added all versions of the website I could muster: m.youtube.com, youtube.com, youtube.com/watch, m.youtube.com/watch
- Screentime > Content Restrictions > Websites > Only Approved Websites (didn't block YouTube) in Chrome only Safari
I discovered the answer finally!
Blocked YouTube on Chrome Browser iPad App!
Go to Screentime > Content Restrictions > Websites > Block Adult Websites > Add Website To Block > Add m.youtube.com, youtube.com, youtube.com/watch, m.youtube.com/watch
Here is the website I found the solution.
You can also Go into Screentime & Content Restrictions, then turn off app store access & ability to edit or add apps so they can't download the YT or YT Kids app, you can also block the app store website for the Chrome browsers for good measure!
Finally Blocks it!
You can also add any other sites you don't want your kiddos accessing, combine that with the
Screentime > App Limits > Add New App Limit > Other > Websites > Add Website > Enter Any Websites You Want to Block (may be redundant but better safe than sorry!)
Another option to double down is
Screentime > Content Restrictions > Websites > Only Approved Websites
(doesn't block youtube, but figured I'd mention it for those with littles who want to have specific sites allowed instead)
