Error 2072 and error 48 while trying to download music from Apple Music

Getting an error 2072 when trying to download some purchased music and getting error 48 when trying to download music from my personal library sunk into the apple cloud with Apple Music. There seems to be no info on either of these errors.

The best I can figure out it looks like 2072 means apple did not renew licensing with the artist so you are S* out of luck on re-downloading

and

Error 48 appears to be apple corrupted your personal music library and cannot recover the file, so again S* out of luck unless you still have the CDs you ripped them from.

At this point I cancelled my apple music subscription after downloading what I can recover.

If anyone has more info on the subject I would love to be able to recover my purchased and uploaded music

Hi,

I regularly get error 48. It seems to happen to the first couple of tracks when I select several tracks to download. I click on activity pop up and select tracks and resume download. Tracks download ok.

I have not seen error 2072 but I had three purchased tracks that I needed sign in to re-download. Tracks were no longer available in iTunes Store. Fortunately I had backup.

Generally, Apple allows you re-download previously purchases as long as they are still available. Apple recommends that you keep a separate backup.

If you have cancelled your subscription, it is unlikely that you will be able to recover the missing tracks, not purchased from iTunes Store. Apple only keeps your library after cancellation for up to 30 days.

I tried the redownload and even tried to redownload on another pc and a Mac. Still no luck.

as for the subscription I just cancelled out of frustration but it’s not expired yet. Why pay for a system that only works partially.

as for the backup recommendation that is easy and difficult as the music has licensing attached so it’s not like I can play it on my laptop unless I have iTunes. That’s not a problem on my personal device but we don’t allow iTunes at work.
