SELFIE GONE WRONG DROPPED PHONE IN POOL

I was lounging by the pool yesterday and had a brilliant idea to take a selfie using my selfie stick. Well my iPhone 11Pro Max slid out of the selfie stick holder and fell in the pool. When I realized it I grabbed the phone in less than 30 seconds, but I heard a big gulp from the phone when it went under the water. It was less than a minute because I panicked and grabbed the phone almost immediately!

I dried it off and pat the phone upright on a towel hoping to let some of the water out that entered around the charging port! Not long after my phone froze and wouldn't respond to my touch, screen was frozen and I think battery died so I placed it on the wired charger, but the phone keeps getting hot and apple symbol comes on then phone turns on but says "iPhone Unavailable! Try again in 1 minute" but then shuts off immediately after that message prompt on the screen. So I thought I should place it on the wireless charger to see if there's any difference but nothing, same prompt keeps popping up with the same message then phone shuts off! It seems to be charging with the lightning symbol in the battery icon at top right of phone, but the phone is not demonstrating actual charging to green and keeps shutting off after that message.

The phone did have a cracked back and small cracks around the front facing camera but it was literally only like 30 seconds tops in the water!!!???

The pool is chlorinated if that helps...

Made an appointment with local Best Buy to see what they can do, but I wish I could charge it enough to just back up my phone on iCloud or my computer so that I won't lose any of my photos and videos etc.

UGH worst situation ever!

It's too late now, but the first thing that should have been done when you retrieved the phone was power it off immediately.

The second thing would have been to let the phone dry for at least a day.....two would be better.

The shop will not attempt repairs on a phone that has been damaged by water, so you are looking at a replacement phone to get up and running again.
