How do I delete unknown contact numbers?

Have a number in contacts that has no name. Can’t figure out how to delete it. I have no edit on the right upper corner, tried to swipe each way ( all that happens is the number gets dialed. Gonna be charged with harassment pretty soon), and tried Google to no avail unless I’m just a magoo at this. can you help
