WD backup failure

I have a mid-2015 Macbook Pro I've been trying to backup to my WD mycloud 4TB and continue to get the error others have gotten only mine is labeled error 35. It still comments it is unable to backup as it cannot access my "sparsebundle". Repeated attempts to get help from WD was worthless even having them hang up on me. Apple tried to help but could not as the WD didn't even show up in Finder or anywhere even though it was connected directly from my computer to the WD hard drive. Time machine did not list it either. I finally stumbled, through trial and error, onto the WD device page to "Reboot". It would then miraculously work. However, each time I went to backup I had to reboot the WD again. Interestingly, it still does not list the WD as even there though when I enter the TM backups I see backups present after the reboot. It's ridiculous to have to do this process each time but so far I haven't found another solution. Has anyone else solved this problem?? By the way of have Monterey 12.7.5.

I would try a different drive and compare your results.
