UAD Apollo Twin Meter and Control Panel Failed Firmware Update

I followed everything UAD described, installed the software. After installation it asks to update the Firmware, but that fails. Then the computer will now force Restart because of a "problem". UAD error 96. Has anyone found a fix for this yet? I've done a complete uninstall, following UAD's process of deleting Library items, as well. Still happens. I have the M3 MacBook Pro.
