Can you tell us how you "deleted" them? Was this in Photos? or was it in the Finder? Did you delete these pictures by pressing the Delete key or with Command Delete or from a menu? or how?

Are you using iCloud to synchronize your Photos Library? If so, have you looked at iCloud.com? And, if you're using iCloud, do you have “Optimize Storage” checked in Photos’ Settings?

You did this at iCloud.com, and you got this, each time?

When I hit Delete, the picture disappeared and showed up in Recently Deleted. This is also true for my Mac.

All the pictures that you have can be found in both Library and Recents, or in Recently Deleted or Hidden. There's no place else. To be sure you've looked everywhere, can you do a search? That's easiest on your Mac.

Thanks for your response! I opened my icloud photos, selected the photos, clicked on the 'trash' icon on the right top corner of the screen. Then there is a separate message, saving changes. Then it is done. I kept repeating these process.

Then i clicked on the 'recently deleted', and cannot find them. I have not used 'optimize storage' but use the other one.

Thank you!
