iPhone 14 shows Not connected to Toyota RAV4 in Bluetooth settings device menu , but CarPlay still works

I see my new 2024 RAV4 in my available Bluetooth devices on my phone, however it says “not connected” strangely enough , the CarPlay works and mirrors my phone. I can listen to Spotify, make and receive calls, I see it’s connected on the Bluetooth settings screen of car display but my phone still says “not connected” to the TOYOTA RAV4 available device. When I attempt to connect at that point it will say “connection unsuccessful” I have tried multiple times to forget the device on the phone and the car but it still shows not connected although it is.
