Security for older Macs

Do I need a VPN for my 10-year-0ld Mac Book Pro? Am Apple service person told me MACs are considered "obsolete" after ten years and no longer supported. Would a VP{N make it more secure?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

Using a VPN on an Obsolete Mac:

No. A VPN would jet get in the way of multimedia usage and app operability. So, keep it off of your Apple devices --old or not. I have a 2018 MPB, and I continue to use it, only because it has a an In-tel processor. With an Intel processor, I can run a Virtual Machine (meaning Windows-in-a-window --on which I have security software, but no VPN.
