What to do when my MacBook is locked due to password error?
I know what my mac password is but it’s keep saying it’s not correct and now it’s locked! What should I do? Nothing works!

Troubleshooting a Locked Mac Account:
Reset this Using the Login Screen:
You'd go through your Apple ID to perform this. Find out more here: If you Forgot your Mac Login Password - Apple Support. Make sure that caps lock is not enabled when typing it. No Success? Go here: If you can't Reset your Mac Login Password - Apple Support

Getting into Locked Mac:
A. Start with Contacting Apple Support:
If you try incorrectly too many times, then you may be locked out for good. so, stop fiddling with the reset, and give Apple a call.
What YOU can do:
If Apple Support is not an option to you…
A. Use a Recovery Key:
Did you ever create a Recovery Key prior to all of this? If so, you can use one to get in. Having gotten home for the day, my Mac was locked(for whatever reason), and having a Recovery Key, I was able to get right in. Of you never created one, then take this as a learning experience, knowing to always create a Recovery Key writing it in hardcopy, storing it in a private location that only YOU have access to and only YOU are knowledgeable of. In the long run, with a Recovery Key , you can play it safe and get in.
B. Use the Login Screen:
Either go through the login screen(my original my original reply). Go slow as you proceed.
C. Take this to an Apple Store:
Have no reluctancy to take this in for service.
