Fixed Position Volume Controls (Fast position for lydstyrkeknapper)

Hvorfor findes den funktion ikke på min iPad (10. generation) iOS 17.5.1?

Jeg vil gerne have en fast position.

Håber Appel har et godt svar, og nej post ikke svar hvordan det skulle ændres, det er ikke muligt.

Mange hilsner

Ole

Fixed Position Volume Controls

Why doesn't that feature exist on my iPad (10th generation) iOS 17.5.1?

I would like a permanent position.

Dynamic volume controls were introduced with release of iPadOS 15.4 onwards. The “logic” behind dynamic volume controls is such that regardless of the screen orientation, the relative function remains constant - as follows:

  • When the physical buttons are positioned on a vertical edge of the iPad, the uppermost button will always increase the volume. Conversely, lower button will decrease the volume.

  • When the physical buttons are positioned on a horizontal edge of then iPad, the button on the right will increase the volume - while the button on the left will decrease the volume.

For reasons known only to Apple, the ability to disable this feature is not available for any new models of iPad and iPad Pro that have since been launched - these models being:

  • iPad Air5
  • iPad Air M2
  • iPad mini6
  • fourth generation iPad Pro 11”
  • sixth generation iPad Pro 12.9”
  • iPad Pro M4
  • iPad10

As already outlined, the iPad10 (i.e., the tenth generation iPad) does not offer the option to disable Dynamic Volume Controls.

To be objective, when the simple premise of the uppermost or volume button to the right always increasing the volume is understood - the button functions become intuitive.

That said, not everyone likes the feature. For those that would at least like to have the choice - as implemented with iPad models that pre-date release of iPadOS 15.4 - you can submit a feature request to Apple. While there is no guarantee that Apple will make this change, if enough requests are made, change may happen.
