MacBook Pro showing wrong date and time

It has been more than a year since I’ve been experiencing a problem with incorrect date and time on my MacBook Pro. I’ve tried several solutions found on this site, but the issue keeps coming back after a few weeks or months. I’m quite disappointed because this seems like a basic problem for a company like Apple with its developers, engineers, and architects.

Can you push a fix for all the users who are struggling with this issue ?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.5

from the Terminal.app copy & paste:

sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist

this will remove the corrupt plist. reboot and compare your results

(note—your psswd will not echo on screen type it in anyway, use the enter\return key to proceed. Quit Terminal.)

Where do you see these incorrect dates and times? Is this about the built-in clock, such as in the top-right corner of the menu bar?

Is the Mac usually internet connected? Then it would contact NTP time servers, to sync the time with. Even if the internal clock drifts, that would be enough to keep it correct.

How much off is it? 1 day or less? Then it might be a time zone issue.
