Apple doesn't offer trade-ins for the current models, and doesn't offer online trade-ins for iPads in India; they also don't say what they offer for them at physical Indian Apple Stores on their website. If you sell or trade it in somewhere else, ask the buyer/provider.

The Indian trade-in page only refers to iPhone's as trade in candidates with actual estimated values for them and even the title of the link is automatically resolved to "iPhone Exchange Program" by the forum software. The pages for other countries do offer estimates for other devices.

The text, is probably just a boilerplate for trade-ins that does not really apply in India. But the best course of action would be to take the iPad to an Apple Store and see if they offer a trade-in for it or not.

Though as you mentioned Apple does not normally take in devices they currently sell for trade-ins.

Apple in India does not currently take iPads for trade-in. Only iPhones at this time.

The underlying link was intentionally not USA specific - and should work in most (if not all) countries where Apple have official representation.

Non-specific links should resolve correctly for the region from which it is accessed.

LotusPilot: The text in the bottom right corner of it reads United States, and the prices are in USA dollars. There aren't any non-specific links for the trade-in pages.

If YOU are in the US, the link I provided will resolve to a US page - while in India, it will resolve to the equivalent (IN) page for Apple resources in India.
