Over the past few years MS has opened up device compliance with various MDM providers, does anyone know if device compliance is coming to business essentials or possible hooks to intune for conditional access policies?

I would not hold my breath. ABE is not full featured. It is designed as an entry level MDM for environments that are 100% embraced in the Apple ecosystem (all apps from the App Store, no advanced settings or installs, no scripting, etc.)
If you need integration into IDPs, you really should be looking at other MDMs.

yeah, want to use intune and have the stuff good to go there, but the applecare+ is limiting corp device toe ABE...atleast I got OIDC online with ABM for the user accounts...
the Applecare+ has credits or something also for repair, so you are sort of stuck...
