can i use apple pencil pro with my ipad air 5

I have an iPad Air 5, but I don’t know what chip it uses and I want to know if I should buy the Apple Pencil pro or the Apple Pencil 2 because they’re both the same price and I personally would prefer the pro but I don’t know if it is compatible and will work with the current iPad that I have.
