Connect Mac Studio to MacBook Pro over wifi

Mac Studio recognizes MacBook Pro and vice versa. Each computer can't access the files on the other.

Studio uses Sonoma 14.5, MacBook uses Big Sur 11.7.10

Mac Studio, macOS 14.5

on the SOURCE computer (the one holding the files to be shared) you would need to enable File Sharing, and specify what specific user or class of users (e.g,, "Admin") are allowed what access, read only or read and write.

Then when you make the connection, you will be asked to enter credentials. The credentials needed are those that would give you read access on the REMOTE computer (your computer already knows who you are).

Thanks, I got this far already.
Any other suggestions? -G

What happens when you try to access one computer from the other computer?

In Finder if you click on one computer, it should offer the option to connect to it. In most cases it will ask for credentials that have been given access to said computer.

Is that not what happens?

Do you get an error? If so, what does it say?

Have you shared any specific folders?

Are you not getting that option?
