iPhone 12 Pro Max camera not recognized

I bought this iPhone new from Apple when the 12 came out and within the last six months, I have started getting the camera not recognized/unknown part notice and am unable to use the standard camera mode on my iPhone (portrait mode always works). Restarts at times fixes the issue, but it reoccurs. I'm running the latest version of iOS (17.6). Obviously coverage has expired. Am I stuck getting a new iPhone or throwing money at this one to get the camera fixed or is there another solution available?
