cant find my printer in colorsync utility

The Printers group in Devices in the Colorsync Utility is empty.

Next higher layer problem: we have 2 computers, one MacBook Pro with Monterey 12.7.6 that prints better on our Epson WF-3820, the other MacBook Air M2 with Sonoma 14.6 that prints badly. So I set out to make the Print choices on the MB Air match those on the MB Pro. The setting Printer Options: Color Matching is "ColorSync" on the Pro but "EPSON Color Controls" on the Air. Under Photoshop, neither setting can be changed. Under Safari, I can change this setting on both machines, but a setting changed in this way does not propagate to subsequent printing under Photoshop. Why is Color Matching locked under PS?
