Disappearing Texting message sent with digital Picture

Writing a long message in text message box, was going to send it with a signature digital picture, when I sent the digital signature at the end of the text message 💨 poof it’s gone and only the digital sent. Is that supposed to happen!?? Anyway of recovering the message?
