SOLVED (for me) : "No GPS, Showing your approximate location" Error Message
Hi, I want to share with everyone my experience with my newly bought iPhone 14 Pro Max. I bought a Mous case (which is a very good casing as it insulates the phone from damage if you accidentally drop the phone) to protect my iPhone
I used the iPhone 14 Pro to navigate in Malaysia whenever I travel there from Singapore. Each time I use waze or Google Maps on the phone, I will notice that the "My location" icon will freeze at a certain place and after about 10-20 seconds it will reposition itself again, by which time, I am already way ahead of the route (most times, on the wrong route). When I use Waze, I have an error message "No GPS, Showing your approximate location". In my iPhone Setting, I have already set Location Services to ON, set Waze's "ALLOW LOCATION ACCESS" to Always.
So I brought it to Apple Store and they restored my iphone 14 to a clean phone and I tested it and it still had that error. The next day they changed the PCB for me and the issue is still there. On the 3rd day, they changed a brand new iPhone 14 for me and the issue is still there.
Out of frustration, I took my iPhone out from my Mous case and lo and behold, it worked!!! No more "NO GPS" error message
My iPhone 14 Pro case is Mous and it somehow, affected the phone's ability to detect the GPS satellites, but I am happy now that it works for me. So perhaps if you are still experiencing this issue, try taking your phone out of your casing and test it. If it works then I am happy for you. Cheers!
