How can I fix App Store access issue?

I recently blocked the App Store off my phone for a time and tried to get it back, but it would not come back. I have done this on many occasions and I’ve never had problems before. I’ve done everything I could in settings and nothing has worked. I go to the App Store website and I hit the link that should take me to the app and it says the address is invalid. I have no idea how to get the App Store back on my phone, please help.

That's the only place to restrict it and the only place to re-enable it.

If you have set Installing Apps back to allow, it should be available again on one of your Home Screens, though it may not return to the one it was on before if there is no space for it there. It may end up on a different home screen.

Try swiping left and right on your home screens, or using the App Library to try to find it.

I have the same problem—-searched everywhere on the phone, cannot download or update apps. Restarted, enabled….watched a bunch of you tube videos on it….to no avail. It seems like it is truly gone.
  • Have you updated to iOS 17.6?
  • Have you checked the Screen Time setting at Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > App Store & iTunes Purchases > Installing Apps?
  • Have you checked your App Library by swiping all the way to the left and entering "App Store" in the search field?

What App store website? Apple's App Store does not have an actual website, and you cannot download or re-download the App Store App at all. Its built into an iPhone and cannot be removed, only hidden or restricted through Screen Time Settings.

If you did something to block or restrict it, you will need to explain what that was, before anyone can offer any guidance.

What did you do to block it exactly?

Why can't you undo what you did?

What exactly have you tried to get it back?

It’s usually just a simple fix. Going to Settings > Screen Time > Content and Privacy Restrictions > iTunes and App Store Purchases > Installing Apps > then pressing don’t allow. That’s what I’ve done and times past. When I do this the App Store icon goes away and I don’t have access to it anymore. But every time I want it back I just go back to the same place in Settings and select “Allow” under “Installing Apps” and it has come back every time. For whatever reason this time it just hasn’t come back.

Hi, I have this problem with my daughter’s phone, and have been scouring these threads for a solution. I really appreciate your clear and concise replies on these threads with instructions that actually make sense. That being said, I have tried ALL of them. Completely removed all restrictions on her phone, (allowed downloading apps) etc, not in App Library or spotlight search. Not blocked in Siri search settings, restarted, updated. Reset Home Screen. . . Everything short of full factory reset.

Now what?

Factory reset?

The only place on her phone that I can even find a reference to the App Store app, is in

“Settings”,

there is an App Store tab right above

“wallet and Apple Pay

This has a tab for

“Siri and search”

which has options for both

“Show app in search”

and

”Show on Home Screen”

both of these are enabled.

It still does not show up in search results, and is not on the Home Screen or in the App Library.
