Placeholders in Final Cut Pro for iPad

As a video editor,

I would like to map out future edits using placeholders,

so that I can speed up my editing process and create templates for future use.

I’ve looked for this feature in the iPad software and have not been able to find it.

Does anyone know if this feature will be available soon?

No one here can say.

You can make a feature request by using "Send Feedback" within the app:

You can also make your own placeholder graphics to use within your edits with the generator and title tools.

There are placeholder generators in both iMovie and Final Cut Pro (Generators > Elements > Placeholder). You can build individual (4-5 second) clips and export as .mov files, then import them into FCP for iPad(?*).

*I don't have FCP for iPad (or an iPad for that matter) — I may not know what I'm talking about... and: YMMV.

Can you add third party TTF fonts to an iPad without* going through the App Store? (AnyFont maybe? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/anyfont/id821560738)

There is a font that will let you build your own placeholders with character outlines:

and you can build customized placeholders with *any* background, for example:

or

If you can install 3rd party fonts and you'd be interested, let me know. I'll let you have it for free. All I ask in return is: you tell me how you got it installed on the iPad and if, and how, it works in Final Cut for iPad.

If you're not interested... never mind.

[*I, personally, am NOT going to pay an annual fee to be able to add products like this font to the App Store.]
