selection bar is imprecise since getting a new phone.

i had an iphone 14 replaced under applecare and if i am remembering correctly) since then it is really difficult to make selections on the phone.

meaning it is hard to move the cursor around. its hard to make selections. sometimes it won't even allow me to make a selection. if almost feels like an issue with the screen or the control. it's really annoying and i spend a lot of time trying to make selections or to do any editing on the phone.

it /seems/ to be working well in this interface but 9 out of 10 times its a real chore.

any ideas for search terms or what is going on?
