MP3 files in iTunes not syncing with iPhone

I have some MP3 files on my iTunes (purchased from a different source not Apple). When I sync my phone 3-4 songs from each album are not transferred on the phone.

Any suggestions what should I do to have all my songs transferred?

Do the songs play in your iTunes Library? If not, you need to solve that issue first.

If the songs do play in your iTunes Library, the question is how do you add music to your iPod? Is it:

    • Sync Entire library - in which case, as long as the songs are ticked (checked) in your library, they should go onto the iPod
    • Sync Selected playlists, artists, albums and genres - in which case you need to ensure that the new songs are in a list to be added to the iPod (i.e. that they have been selected)

If the above criteria is met, try a further Sync, as it has been known for some songs to be missed at Sync time (it's an iTunes bug!)

Thank you for your answer!

In the settings I have selected the option to sync entire library ( no check box beside songs) and the songs are playing on the PC.

I have an album of 16 songs only 12 are copied. I have deleted the album from iTunes and downloaded again: still 12 songs but the missing ones are different.

Are there any limits on the number of songs ( I do have almost 35000 songs).

Only the amount of storage available on your phone.

There has been an issue with iTunes for some time now, whereby random songs are not copied to a device. Various work-round have been suggested, such as modifying the non-syncing tracks and trying again. However, as you have found, even a basic second sync (without modifying the tracks) results in a different selection of tracks not being added to the device. Some that made it first time then get mysteriously missed off (removed) by the second attempt.

I just keep trying in the hope that I get a full sync at some stage.
