When I’m playing Apple Music on my iPhone 15 Pro (latest iOS) and I want to switch to it to see what the current song is, the artist is not updated - it shows the artist of the prior song. I have to actually land in the Music app in order for it to appear correctly. This is poor.

The UI of the apps in the App Switcher are not refreshed in the background. If that were the case, your iPhone would slow to a crawl managing the UI of every app in the App Switcher. Apps are meant to remain in the App Switcher, for the only purpose of being able to navigate back to them quickly. People think they can speed up their phone by force closing these apps when not in use, but that is not the case because there are no UI updates that are slowing it down.
To see the updated song playing, you just need to enter the Control Center by swiping down in the upper right corner.

Sorry, I cannot duplicate the same behavior on my device. I can suggest to provide feedback here that is specific to Apple Music.
That’s not correct I’m afraid Jim as my screenshots show. The artwork and the song were refreshed, the artist isn’t.
