Mac: Subscriber edition podcast episodes wont download as mp3 files

When i download episodes from a podcast i am not subscribed to they download in an MP3 format so then i can easily transfer them to my headphones. However, if i try to download an episode from a podcast i have a subscription to they download as movpkg files instead of mp3. For example: I have Wondery+ so all wondery podcasts do this. Does anyone know why the subscriber podcasts dont download as mp3?
