Your iPhone battery dying fast can have several causes, but the main cause is having a low battery capacity. A battery capacity measures the device battery capacity to when it was new. As the battery ages, this may lead to a lower battery capacity.

In order to check your battery capacity, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down until you see a tab named "Battery". Tap on Battery.
  3. You will then see a tab that says "Battery Health & Charging". Tap on Battery Health & Charging.
  4. You will then see a section that will say "Maximum Capacity", which is your battery capacity. Then a percentage will show, showing your Battery Capacity.

Here are some of the results:

  • 100%-90% means that the battery that is in good condition.
  • 90%-80% means that the battery is in average condition.
  • 70% and lower means that the battery may need to be repaired.

If your battery has a capacity lower that 70% then it would be a good idea to get the battery replaced by Apple or a third-party repair shop.
