Cirlced in red is the indicator of the Position tool:
Either press A or use that little menu to choose the Select tool (a.k.a. "Arrow" tool).
You will have to manually delete the gap clips that were created while using the Position tool.
let me explain better... if I take 1 new clip and put it in the empty storyline for example, this clip will not be attracted to the left side of the storyline but will remain where I initially placed it... and before and after the clip an empty gray space will appear
thanks

The magnetic effect only works with the primary timeline.
You are probably moving clips connected to (above) the primary timeline.
If you have got another track above the main one you can make it magnetic by highlighting all of it, right-click on it and select "Create Storyline" from the contextual menu.
and if instead there were several clips and I had to move one with the mouse, to another position in the timeline, the clip that I would move would leave an empty space between the adjacent clips...
You have activated the Position tool.
Look in your screenshot the tailless arrow that is different from the usual arrow.
Press A to activate the usual Arrow tool.
perfect! you solved my problem that may seem trivial but that I couldn't solve...!
Thank you very much
