iPhone Flashlight comes on at random

The flashlight on my iPhone just comes on at random. Did it on my XR, still does it on my 15

iPhone 15, iOS 17

How do you carry your iPhone? In a pocket, purse, backpack? If you do and you have tap or swipe to wake, your mode of carrying may be enabling the flashlight. You can turn off Tap or Swipe to Wake, by going to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Turn off Tap or Swipe to Wake. Doing this may help you, but in order to wake your phone after turning that feature off means you'll need to tap the side power button to wake your screen.

My SE 2020 does that occasionally but I have Back Tap set so that three taps on the back turn on the flashlight. See if Back Tap is enabled.

Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap

Then you may have a hardware issue with your iPhone. Schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius and let Apple see it. I can tell you the flashlight NEVER turns on on my iPhone by itself.

i use speaker phone mode about 99 percent of the time and it will come on while i am on the phone, with it in my hand, laying on my desk, laying on the kitchen counter, laying on the center console of the car, laying by the sink in the bathroom while i am washing my hands, so, NO, it is not something that i am accidently hitting or activating while it is in my hand or pocket. it is also doing it progressively more often. also it is getting progressively harder to turn it off when it comes on as well.

and don't even get me started on what the clock is doing!!! but, that is another issue as well.
