Wi-Fi management from control center

Some people doubt that Wi-Fi is turning off from control center. Due to the fact that Wi-Fi switch is turned on in the general settings, they think that Wi-Fi is in some sleep mode. But I understand correctly that the module doesn't work, right? And the switch is on just to understand that there is a timer until the morning?

To clarify what my esteemed colleague explained, the WiFi button in the Control Center does not turn off WiFi at all. What is does is disconnect your device from the WiFi network until the following day. This allows you to easily disconnect from a weak WiFi signal but still automatically connect to a different network if you move about.

So, if you disconnect from the WiFi network from the Control Center and then go to Settings>WiFi, yes, it will still show as enabled. However, you won't see a connected network directly under the switch to turn it on or off.

Thank you for clarifying your esteemed colleague, who clearly was eating lunch and doing other things when he gave a not so great answer! ;-)

I wonder what the battery consumption would be in this case. Bluetooth, if I'm not mistaken, uses 1.5-2 percent of the total charge.

Leaving WiFi and Bluetooth on doesn't significantly drain your battery. Turning off WiFi can also significantly degrade your location/navigation performance. You might want to read this article:

Ordinarily, it's not that important of a distinction.

I admit to being a bit miffed that you didn't get me any lunch!

How utterly thoughtless of me and it was homemade pasta and chicken in a marinara sauce, with lots of veggies too!

Thanks! I'll explain why this question came up. I had a conversation with an Android user who believes that in this way, Wi-Fi continues to work and thus continues to drain the battery. I didn't even pay attention to it at all.

I will check if it works exactly as you said, but I remember that when turning it off from the control center, even when entering the zone of another available network, my phone didn't connect to it. If it does connect, then Wi-Fi is still working.

I wonder what the battery consumption would be in this case. Bluetooth, if I'm not mistaken, uses 1.5-2 percent of the total charge.
