Do I need to purchase a dock with hdmi or DisplayPort?
Hi! Do I need to purchase a dock with Hdmi 2.1 or DisplayPort to have on my external monitor 4k 144hz with MacBook Air m1? Or it doesn’t matter?

As far as I know, the M1 MacBook Air does not support driving any monitor at 144 Hz.
MacBook Air (M1, 2020) - Technical Specifications - Apple Support
"Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display at millions of colors and: One external display with up to 6K resolution at 60Hz."
I suppose that with lower resolutions, it might be possible to get a greater refresh rate, but so far I'm not seeing any guarantees. So I wouldn't count on anything higher than 60 Hz.

There is a video on YouTube with MacBook Air m2 showing that this is possible, though it says about the displays the same thing. But he has connected the monitor via usb c I think.

I heard that it only supports DisplayPort to that resolution and hz but I don’t know now what is true and don’t want to purchase wrong dock.
