Thunderbolt 4 uses a USB-C type connector. This is not a factor with it damaging your iPhone.

The report about "non-apple cable may be damaging your phone" is most likely related to cables that do not employ two very important chips. Apple charging cables include both. One is used to identify the cable as an authentic Apple cable, and the other, helps prevent over-voltage conditions.

Using third-party cables may not include either or ones that are inferior. This can potentially damage the power chip on the iPhone's logic board.

No, I'm not saying that!. I'm just warning you of the possibility. It's one of the reasons the Apple cables may cost more. Hey, it's your "expensive" iPhone 15. Only you can decide how much you are willing to spend for a charging cable ... although it $130 does not seem right. You also don't need a Thunderbolt 4 cable with this phone. Besides, didn't your phone come with a USB-C charging cable already?

You're very welcome!

Yikes, that's outrageous ... but I guess it makes sense as Thunderbolt 4 cabling are limited to their length since they support higher throughput rates. Their major advantage is to allow daisy chaining multiple devices. You can get similar throughput with USB 4 (Gen 3x2) cables at a lower price point. However, they too, have limited lengths to support 40Gbps throughput rates, and do not support daisy chaining.
