How do I know if my Apple ID is compromised?

My iphone got stolen and I received a message from apple that the phone has been traced. The message came froman Apple account,t as this is where they have sent the identification codes. However , when I opened the link to find the location, it asked for myApple ID and password; it then asked me for the phone passcode. After this point, it showed me the location of the phone. I came out of the link and when I tried to acces again, an error message came stating that the website is down and engineers have been informed. I am really worried now that it may have been scammer . Please could any help.

Apple doesn’t send those messages.

That’s a scam trying to get your Apple ID credentials.

If you entered your Apple ID credentials into the site, you got phished.

I wouldn't expect to see this iPhone back.

If you don’t get your Apple ID re-locked quickly, that Apple ID and its data may be gone, too.
