My MacBook Air early 2015 shuts down when plugged in and no battery installed

Model: Macbook Air early 2015 11"

Issue: randomly shutting down after a while if no battery is installed

I removed the battery since it was not charging but the battery has been drained. I could not service it since i was not sure which part of the charging issue was at fault since i had no spare charger nor battery.

During usage of the device with no battery installed, the system still had 60% idle cpu but it will still shutdown. I assume this is a system freeze since i had to unplug and plug the power hust to revive the system. I checked the log files but there were no reports associated with the crash or it may just me not knowing where to look(using console). I ran the device in safemode which ran the cpu idle on 90%+ but the system still crashed like it just went to sleep instead of looking like it suddenly lost power. i tried to power this on different power outlets just to isolate the issue but with no luck.

This was not an issue when it still had the battery and the device should not be possible to be crashing or shutting down when AC powered.

i need help in information and troubleshooting.

You have some sort of hardware issue with the laptop other than just a bad battery. This 2015 MBAir should run without the battery. Any of the internal components could be at fault, but the main ones assuming just a power issue would be the I/O Board and I/O Cable, followed by the Logic Board. On the MBAirs I service for my organization liquid damage & corrosion (from liquid damaged) is very common on these parts as well. However, any internal or external item can be the cause as well.

Thank you for the response. I was about to order another battery just to check this out but seeing your comment made me think twice. As i currently have no funds to have this fixed and i know logic boards may just as well cost for another 2nd hand mbair 2015. Ill just have this shelved in the mean time.

if you have troubleshooting steps for me to do i'd gladly do them. Though, i'd really want to see what happens if i install a new battery to it but it would be waste if it doesn't work.
