Why are some shared photos missing in Messages?

I have been sharing pictures with a friend in messages, and only random ones are available in photos.

show in shared with you is on but they don’t show there either.

it appears to be in no order and I have tried “Siri and search” and toggling the “show content in search”.

Is there a solution or reason for this as I have now have to scroll through lots of messages to find these

Photos Showing as ? in Text Messages The photos I send to people are showing as ? in my text messages. I cannot open it to view it. It is not like when it shows as an icon, you can tap on it and it opens. This is a ? and grayed area that nothing can be done.
