Mac os clock constantly wrong

Hello

My MacBook Pro clock has been consistently wrong for the last month or two e.g. display time was 4:21 am this morning when I logged in at around 11:09 am. Initially it was set to automatically detect time and was producing this error, so I switched to manual mode. But even in manual mode the time is way off by hours. Each day now I log on and the time is wrong, I have to toggle the set time and date automatically button on and off and the time updates to the correct one (please don't mention that as a solution, it's annoying to have to refresh your time zone every day just to get the correct time).

Anyone have any solutions? Thanks!!!

from the Terminal.app copy & paste:

sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist

this will remove the corrupt plist. reboot and compare your results

(note—your psswd will not echo on screen type it in anyway, use the enter\return key to proceed. Quit Terminal.)

Reboot and compare your results.
