I have noticed this a few times in the discussion but no real answer.
occasionally some cards get deleted from my wallet. Things like gym membership cards, rewards cards etc. so far I haven’t had a payment card removed but it’s extremely frustrating to walk up to a counter and realize your card is gone and you have to re add it through an app.

The issue is on the issuers end. Loyalty cards and membership cards are controlled by the app used to add them to the Wallet. Make sure the app is updated to the latest version and report any issues to the support team for the club, merchant, gym etc. issuing the card so that they can address them in future updates to their app.

Just an update. Apparently there is a known issue where some passes delete and Apple is hoping to have a software solution in the future. I did not get the impression it will be addressed in the next update but eventually
One possible solution is to open each card every day. (Not exactly practical but hey it’s something)

This was from a chat followed by a phone conversation with apple support. For the last few weeks it’s been consistent (the cards remain) unless there is an update to either the corresponding app or iOS)
Apple updates security on Apple Wallet and Apple Pay and their app and loyalty card are not compliant and removed by the software update, would be one reason.
The card saved in the cloud is not compliant and needs to be deleted. That probably requires the loading of compliant card. Otherwise the iCloud version would keep updating with non-compliant card.
Makes sense but both phones are running 17.6 and each app version are the same. Interesting enough the only difference is my wallet updates to the cloud, my wife’s does not. I wonder if there is a problem with the cloud update

Makes sense. However that still doesn’t explain why one phone deletes it and the other does not. Chatting with apple support now and will update if they have a solution
