Missing spring sounding alert

I had a text alert tone that made a sound like a spring that went boing boing boing boing. When I had my phone updated, actually I had to reset it, I have lost that tone. Is there anywhere else you can get that that you know of? It’s not in the list of tones that I’ve gone through on the phone.

With the update to iOS 17, Apple changed some things about text and ring tones. Previously, you could use ringtones as text tones. Now, you can't. I believe the tone you're asking about is the Classic ringtone "Boing." You should be able to see it if you go to Settings>Sounds & Haptics>Ringtones>Classic.

Unfortunately, even if the tone is there on your iPhone under Ringtones, you can't use it for a text tone. You will either need to buy a similar tone from the iTunes Store or create your own.

To find a lost custom text alert tone on your iPhone, follow these steps: Check Default Tones, Look in Purchased Tones, Check in Files or Backups, Search for the Tone Online, Create or Download a Similar Tone, Contact Apple Support, and Ask in Forums or Communities. If the tone is part of a specific iOS version or bundle, Apple Support may provide more information. If you still have trouble finding the exact tone, contact Apple Support for assistance.
