make an extra backup on FCP

I'm editing a 1.5hr doc and want to make a second backup on another SSD. The library and all other rushes etc. are stored on external SSD, the MacMini M1 only holds the FCP app. Can this be done and can it be automatic? Thanks.

Mac mini, macOS 13.6

Yes, if all your media is inside the library just copy that to the other disc. You can automate it with something like carbon copy cloner or SuperDuper.

You say your Library is already on the external SSD?

Any copy needs to be on a separate drive in case one drive fails.

I also find that duplicating the project helps when testing out editing ideas that I don't want to risk on the original.

You can have as many duplicate projects as you wish. They only take up a few megabytes because they are merely referencing the media.
