Here are some things to look for that come from Apple’s official page that talks about iPhone battery drain issues.
It doesn't help with drain. It is even worse. My SE 2022 is draining like crazy.
I updated to 17.6 the other day and my battery suddenly started draining. This morning, it wasn't fully charged when I woke up even though I left it overnight plugged in. It dropped to 15% by 1 pm (not even using it). Just updated to 17.6.1 and it's suddenly charging well and doesn't feel warm anymore. 76% and going up (charging now).

iOS 17.6.1 Causing Battery Draining:
As of this reply, iOS 17.6.1 is a new update. So, no: I have not come across this issue, as of yet. I have not seen speculative reports of it on these forums.
I am updating to 17.6.1 as I type. However, I saw no differences with my SE 2nd Edition with battery runtime when I had 17.6.0. Battery performance has been rather consistent since I purchased the phone in Nov 2021.
I updated my 15 Pro to 17.6.1 about a week ago. I started to notice some things. It started with videos on Facebook, X, and Instagram being glitchy and buffering. I originally thought it was my connection. Turns out it was not my Wi-Fi or connections at all. I could replicate the issues at various locations.
My issues are:
any video (downloaded, photos, or social media) do not play.
music does not play
videos online also do not play/ We tried the YouTube and Apple webpages; nothing worked.
I can make and connect a phone call. That call does not have any audio. Facetime calls also do not connect.
My battery was hot while charging in my car on Saturday.
After several hours on Saturday with Apple support (first text chat, then phone support), I was left with a phone that didn't work well. Apple phone support tried to reset to factory settings from a computer on Saturday (connected via cable). That reset failed. I then scheduled in-person support though the Apple Support app at a local Best Buy. Best Buy ran all the same diagnostics that the Phone Support did the day before; found nothing. Best Buy hard reset my phone to factory new; same issues (no video or calls). Later on Sunday afternoon, I reopened my case and spoke to a Apple Support Manager for 2.5 hours. She ran diagnostics, attempted to reset the phone again, and tried everything possible. The phone was still quirky with the same issues. She did say that "maybe it's Verizon" and I should speak to the also. The Apple Support Manager ended the call with sending report logs to Apple Engineering to review. The Engineering review could take 3-5 days. Grrr.
I did call Verizon and review all the settings. My Verizon settings were all perfectly fine.
Now I wait for several days until Apple Support gets the Engineering review of my phone's issues.
Updated to 17.6 few weeks ago, noticed a huge battery drain. Just updated to 17.6.1, seems even worse. (13 pro max)
My iPhone is dying fast before I updated my iPhone 13 mini to the 17.6.1
The new update is a battery drainer I updated to 17.6 battery drained real quick and now the same on 17.6.1 no matter what I do in my settings
On an iPhone 11 Pro.......I see no difference at all between iOS 17.6 and 17.6.1 as far a battery performance
Ios17.6
Just upgraded to 17.6.1 the other day, it has really had a big negative affect on battery life.
Running iPhone 12 mini.
11 pro and I’m almost two hours into my phone from being 100% to 54% 17.6.1 has killed the battery life. Just general web browsing with a few minutes of YouTube, texting nothing big.
I’m on an iPhone 12 and the battery is degraded since upgrading and apple cares so less
Hi ! I own a SE 3rd generation and the battery is crashing really fast since the new iOS
even if I do nothing special with my iPhone.
