Is it normal for a newly bought MacBook Air to have 3 cycles in the battery usage?
i bought a new mac book. it has 3 cycles in the battery. is this normal? Can it come from the factory like this?

If you got your laptop directly from Apple, then there is nothing to worry about.
If you got the laptop from an authorized Apple reseller, then you probably don't have anything to worry about unless the also sell Open Box units. Some authorized resellers such as Amazon have been known to resell returned items as new, plus they also don't block scammers from selling on their platform. Buyer beware.
If you got the laptop from some other unauthorized source, then who knows since the best case scenario is you bought a pre-owned never opened box (at least in Apple's eyes).
I would not be concerned about 3 charging cycles since the battery & laptop did have to be tested & configured.
