Did you sign up for a free trial and forget to cancel it?

You authorized any purchase by double clicking the side button followed by verification with FaceID or Passcode. If you gave someone else your Passcode, then you authorized them to use your device and that includes purchases. Have you checked your subscriptions that are managed by Apple?

What were you able to determine?

Verify your currently active subscriptions:

See your subscriptions overview - Apple

You should cancel any subscriptions that you do not wish to continue.

Else see what you are billed for in your purchase history.

If you see 'apple.com/bill' on your billing statement - Apple Support

For Family Sharing groups with Purchase Sharing active, the organizer will get billed for the purchases of the group members. The purchase history for the organizer has a toggle for that.

For purchases made in error (unintentional or accidental), you may request a refund, if it is not from too far back in time. Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support. This requires selecting from listed purchases for that Apple ID.

If you got a message about a charge (different from your financial statement):

If not listed for your Apple ID, then you might need to check for fraudulent charges.

- If someone else has access to your payment method, then they might use that for themselves.

- Some scammers may try billing you while posing as Apple. E.g. fake support.

In such cases, you will have to contact your bank or card issuer about blocking and trying to undo or reverse charges. That is outside the scope of what Apple can do for this.

  1. This is a user to user forum. You are not addressing Apple here. As such accusing us volunteers in these forums of being thieves is not a good way to ask for help.
  2. Apple will not charge you out of the blue. The system is set up to prevent charges unless you yourself actually initiate them.
  3. You can verify any and all charges on your account by following the steps in the support document linked below.
