How to get desktop notifications from Google Calendar in Safari?
I would like to get desktop notifications from Google Calendar in Safari, but I can't make it work! Please note that I am not interested in syncing Google Calendar with the Apple Calendar app, or using a different browser. I am using an M2 MacBook with Sonoma 14.0.
Things I have tried:
- Checking Safari Settings under the Websites tab, and the Notifications menu item. Google Calendar does not show up as a website that has asked for permission.
- Checking System Settings under Notifications. There IS an entry here for "calendar.google.com" that is configured to allow notifications.
-
- Google Calendar notification settings are set to allow desktop notifications. I DO get "Alert" style notifications within the Google Calendar website. These occur regardless of if notification settings are "Desktop notifications" or "Alerts".
- I have checked for OS and Safari updates.
- I have restarted Safari and my MacBook multiple times.
I would really appreciate your support!
