Did apple just eliminate 24 hour phone support?

I used to call any time of day or night and get a human and that was wonderful. It looks like this has changed.

Tonight, at 8 pm pacific time, I heard was an announcement that suggested a reduced schedule based on central time.

When made my help topic selection the system replied that my inquiry cannot be addressed since they are closed at this hour.

Feeling disappointed
