Difficulty getting dual monitor + mac mini + kvm setup working. All devices detected but only one screen rendering.

So this is the setup I am trying to make work here, or at least the last iteration of the setup

What seems to be happening is

The Dell connected via the plain jane HDMI cords work fine. The monitor is detected and renders a display.

The Alienware monitor on the other hand appears to be somewhat detected, as in the system setting will detect some sort of display device but without the model name or any resolution options that make any sense.

I can move my mouse off screen.

I have tried to reset the mac mini

I have tried reseting the alienware monitor

I have doubnle checked the input selector (it is set to the display port output)

I have cycled the KVM

I have checked all connections and tired replacement wires

I am at my wits end here and before I start going off buying more fancy wires I was hoping to someone in the community could help me better understand whats going on here, or help me pick out the correct setup/wires/hub to make this work.
