Importing material from my Iphone 15 pro max in pro res 422 HQ 4k 25 p gives double frames here and there. The recordings are made on a Samsung T7 2TB and there are no double frames in the original material. Made a copy of the original material in compressor exporting in same codec pro res 422 HQ and imported that file to FCPX and now there are no double frames. So what is going on ?

Forgot to mention: I would recommend using the Black Magic Camera on the iPhone as it shoots constant frame rate. It's don't know about Filmic Pro, but Filmic Legacy is also variable frame rate.
Apple camera in Iphone 15 pro max. 4k 25p. ProRaw max. Hdr on. The phenomena occurs always on the exact same frames.Just to be clear. Directly from SSD double frames occur. Copied file to Mac studio hard disk and imported double frames. Playing file outside fcpx cant see any double frames. Made a copy in compressor same codec, imported and no double frames. I will now look through material imported directly from Iphone to see if double frames occur there. Checked project settings for timeline OK. Made a new timeline/project with auto setting from clip. No difference. if you have an mail adress I can use I can send an original file to you with We transfer to test with.
Thanks very much for sharing that. I suspect this is the cause of the problem.
The variable frame rate used my iPhones is a long standing problem and can lead to a number of issues in editing.
What camera app were you using? What's the frame resolution?
What is double frame? I don't know exactly what the situation is.
Just an example I have a frame at timecode 8:18 at 8:19 the same frame shows upp which means a moving subject shows a noticeable short stop. The first frame at 8:18 is doubled.

Thanks a lot for this information Tom. It will be Black Magic from no and on. And as i wrote earlier making a copy in compressor also "repair" the file.
Also found another faster solution stretch out the clip on timeline to 99% and the phenomena disappears.
I could not confirm variable frame rate with QT and FCP. What app should I use to check?
MediaInfo or Invisor. Invisor lets you easily compare multiple files, but just for information I use MediaInfo more frequently.
