Is it a good idea to use a hardshell macbook case on my mac?

I suppose I should start off by saying, I've read up on some other websites, and most of them say no.

Due to display harming issues, it'd make the mac heavier..

I bought one, and received in about a day ago. I've noticed it definitely making my mac heavier, and I don't think the display closes completely.

What are your thoughts?
