How can I change priority for an email received from Apple or any another domain ?

Other people send me emails with High Priority. I want to reset the priority in the Mail app to be much lower. How can I change priority for an email received from Apple or another domain such as gmail?

You can't change priority.


The sender is the one who sets the priority of a message.


In Mail.app you can create rules that react to the priority of a message and take actions accordingly (e.g. move it to a specific folder, forward it, delete it, etc., but changing the priority is not one of the options.

if you are on macOS, you can add a rule that moves or modifies some or all messages where senders have selected high-priority tags, such as sending the mail message into the trash if you are inclined.

The available iCloud mail rules support is comparatively weak, and lacks this capability. Which means this filtering isn’t an option for iCloud mail on iPad or iPhone, unless you can also run a Mac (with rules) full-time.


Other mail-hosting providers can have differing filtering capabilities and features here.
