Be aware that the iPad6 cannot be updated beyond iPadOS 17.x, iPadOS 17.6.1 being current. The iPad6 does not support and cannot be updated to iPadOS 18 when it is released in the next few months.

As such, given that the iPad6 cannot receive further major system software updates, compatible Apps will inevitably become increasingly scarce. While you might reasonable anticipate receiving occasional point security updates to address emerging security threats, the iPad6 will have less utility and usefulness as App Developers drop support for older models.

The iPad6 is very much within its twilight. Even a refurbished device may not be a cost effective or sensible choice.

IF it is an Apple recycled, sure move forward with it. It should be okay to get updates for years.
