Inconsistent number of pages I can scan with scanner

scanner problem. when I scan documents into my medical form, it refuses to scan after 2 documents claiming that the maximum is 2MB while other times it scans 10 documents without a problem. Can you help me

I try to scan medical documents into my brother scanner, sometimes I can scan numerous long documents smoothly while other times it will refuse to scan after one or two pages claiming that the maximum is 2MB. Can someone help?

With it being medical documents, I'm assuming it's all text with maybe some graphs? Not sure what program you're using for the scanning, but is it maybe converting some scans into photos with a higher resolution than that of just text?

I've had scans before that are text only and they come out pretty black and white. While if I scan that same page as a photo, it looks kind of grey and usually is a larger file. There might be a setting or preference within the program to keep all scans as text only

Try using what is already available in macOS Scan images or documents using a scanner and your Mac - Apple Support

Choosing "text" as the scan type will keep the file sizes down and most likely scan quicker

Please try using the Image Capture app which is already pre-installed on your computer to scan. If you are not familiar with IC please click Scan images or documents using a scanner and your Mac - Apple Support

This is the default app to use when scanning rather than using a scanner or printer manufacturer's app. IC is designed to work and there is an excellent chance it will solve your problem.

Have you maybe enabled iCloud Drive or use DropBox or other remote backup SW/settings?

It is a new Brother DCP-L3560CDW

I don't know the scanning app. I think that the app or software was in the scanner when I bought it a week ago. Tried to rescan the same document several times and sometimes it worked while other times it did not.

My scanner problem needs more advice. Yesterday, I tried scanning again long documents and all scanned perfectly, while Just now I scanned a small document and was refused claiming that the limit is 2MB. Can someone tell me what to do.

The scanner is Brother DCP-L3560CDW new. I have to scan printed medical bills into my MAC. Often it does not transfer the scanned bills into my mac claiming that the maximum is 2MB. Yet other times it transfers many documents without any problem. I don't know whether that means to increase or decrease the MB and how to do it. Please help.

Tried to transfer my medical documents again and received this message: "maximum size 2MB exceeded by file scan 2024-08-12-215907 pdf. What do I have to do - increase the MB or decrease the MB and how do I do it? and whether I have to increase or decrease the MB, can I do it once so that it will not block me again, or do I have to do it for every document that I am trying to transfer.
